I first attended Cathedral Pines in 1968. Tom and Mary Gray drove myself, and their son, Dale to
Junior Camp. The new features at the camp that year was the shower house in back of the baseball
field and the fact the camp had permament power for the first time. Before that time, lights out was
when the main power generator was turned off. From then on my ongoing love affair with Cathedral Pines
has continued.
Through the years I witnessed unselfish service to the Lord through the examples of
servants named Jim Chilquoe who used a week of personal vacation every year to be a cabin leader,
Rev. Bob Smith, who shared much of the camps history with me. Rev. Everett (Elder) Berry who has been there forever, in addition to has welcoming us to his congregation in Hailey when serving on the summer staff. These men taught that Christ has called us to sacrifice our time and resources for him.
From this inspiration, the Lord has called me to serve has Cabin Leader and Camp Board member. From these experiences, I have recieved many more blessings than I ever expected.
